TGIF!

Good morning!  Boy has it been a long week!  As you know, last weekend we went to visit our son in St. Louis.  Well, both hubby and I ended up sick!  It has not been a good week!  Sorry to have missed so many days without a new post. Hopefully I am back on track now!

Last night I was finally able to get into my craft room and work on a few projects.  Today's card is using a new image from Simply B Stamps  Bette was so nice and gave this darling girl away on her Facebook page.  Thanks again Bette!
I colored her with Prisma pencils and kept her clean and simple with just a sentiment and banner.

Can you hear the music?

Good morning all my crafty friends!  I hope your week has been a great one so far!
We have a new challenge up at 4 Crafty Chicks this morning.  Our theme is Music...That's a pretty broad subject. It could be your favorite song, dance, band etc...  I chose to use this adorable image from The Paper Shelter called Music Practice.  Isn't she just the cutest?  I colored her with Prisma Pencils and cut her our using a circle die.  I added some "music" paper, flowers, bling lace and ribbon.  I found a few music note stickers in my stash and popped them on too.

I hope you like her as much as I do!

Good morning friends!  I hope you have enjoyed your weekend.  We had a great time visiting with Isaac and watching him bowl. I am sad to have to head home today, but Spring break is only a few weeks away!
Here is a card I made for Sassy Studio's FB challenge- Spring. Thank you Jacquie for giving us a great image to work with!

I cropped her close to showcase her beautiful face and colored her with Prisma pencils. I cut her out with a Spellbinders die and added a little bling, big bow, one of my new charms from the Charm Barn,  and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

Liebster Blog Award

LiebsterBlogAward

My new friend Erin from Erin's Owl Nest was so kind and nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award! If you haven't seen her blog you should go check her out!  Thanks Erin ~ I am so honored you thought of me!

Here are the rules of the nomination:
  1. Be sure to thank the blog that nominated you and be sure to link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 of your favourite blogs with under 500 followers and ask your own 11 questions.
  4. Make sure to let each blogger know about your Liebster Blog nomination on their blog (leave a comment and link back to your Liebster Blog post).

And here are my answers to Erin's questions:

1. What prompted you to start up your own blog?  This is something I have thought about for a long time.  I don't usually make New Years' Resolutions but this was mine this year - I am so glad I did!
2. Where is your favorite place to buy craft supplies? Any place that sells them!  I love to shop at the big chain stores but try to shop at any independently owned stores I can find.  And of course on line shopping!
3. Do you sell your handmade craft items? If so, where? I actually sell quite a few things - right now I do not sell my cards though.  I have done several craft fairs but mostly I sell to people who know me and request things for me to make.
4. What is your favorite type of glitter to use? I don't have a preference.  Most of my glitter comes from the dollar store!
5. What is your favorite coloring method? i.e. copics, distress inks, etc  I love my Prismacolor Pencils  but hope to work with markers soon.
6. What is the typical size of the cards you make? Most of my cards are 6x6
7.  Do you have a favorite craft magazine? No
8.  What is your favorite crafty storage item? I just bought all new storage bins from 31.  They are bright and colorful making my little corner a fun creative place.
9.  What is your favorite color combination? Pink and anything that goes with it.
10. What is your favorite holiday?  I love Christmas but would rather decorate for Fall.
11. Have you ever thought about or exchanged holiday cards with other bloggers? I have not but that would be fun!
Here are 11 of my favourite blogs that I have chosen to nominate for the Liebster Award:

Jeanette - Creative Play
Samantha - Angelicbadgirl
Cole - Cole Meyer
Vanessa - Saffire's Stamping

Finally - here are my 11 questions:
1.  What is your favorite type of card to make?
2.  What do you do with all the cards you make?
3.  Where do you craft? Bedroom, craft room, etc.
4.  What made you decide to start your blog?
5.  Do your family/ friends follow your blog?
6.  Do you prefer traditional rubber stamps or digi images? Why?
7.  What is your favorite holiday?
8.  What is your favorite craft item to purchase?
9.  If you had to choose between Stampin Up and Close To My Heart what would you choose? Why?
10. How many design teams are you on?
11. How much time do you spend in your craft room a week?

Here is a link  to some info on the award if you are new to blogging and aren't sure what it is all about! Have a great day!

Things With Wings at 4 Crafty Chicks

Hello again friends!  We have a new challenge up at 4 Crafty Chicks this week.  We are looking for "Things With Wings"
For this weeks project I chose to use an old retired Stampin' Up set.  I have had this so long that I can't even remember the name of it.  I stamped the image on white card stock and distressed with cocoa distress inks then added a little color with my Prisma color pencils.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Design Team and leave them some love... They do such beautiful work that I know you will want to take a look.

Good morning Friends! Thanks for stopping by today!  We are officially half way through the week and I get to go away for the weekend!  Hurry up Friday! LOL  Anyway, quick post today before I head out the door.
For today's card I used a cute little image I have had in my stash for quite some time from Sassy Cheryl's called Noah's Tire Swing.  Isn't he just adorable?  I colored him with Prisma Pencils and cut him out using a Spellbinders die.  Some Pattern paper and card stock from my stash and a few brads made this a quick easy project.

Happy Sunday!

Good morning Friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and are able to get into your craft space to create something beautiful!  Yesterday we had yet more snow so it was a perfect day to stay in and get crafty.  I finished several projects on my list (you will see them soon!) and even did a little housework.
Today's card is one of my many attempts at "Men" cards.  This is not my strong suit but I really need to get some of them in my stash!
This great image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored him with Prisma color Pencils and cut him out with a Spellbinders die.  As I was trying to figure out what to embellish this card with I came across these old buttons in my jar that I thought were just perfect! I added some burlap ribbon and called him complete!

This will make a great card for my Dad when his birthday rolls around!

Dreaming of Spring

Good morning!  I hope today finds you well.  We are having more snow again...Have I mentioned lately how ready I am for Spring?
Today I have the entire day to craft to my hearts content!  My son is home for the weekend but off and running as usual.  At least I did get to have dinner with him last night before he hit the gym and visited with friends.  I cherish these lazy day of being able to craft or read or just do nothing!
Before I get on with today's card I have to give a huge THANK YOU to Leann from Banking on Crafts for making me a new watermark for my posts!  Take a minute to check out her amazing blog. She is so talented!
So, today I have a card I just finished last night using an adorable image I have had in my stash for quite some time from Sassy Cheryl's Digital Stamps called A No. 2 Pencil.  I colored her up with my Prisma Color pencils and cut her out using one of my new Spellbinders dies called Wonky Rectangles.  I sponged the sky and matted the image with Green cardstock from Recollections.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add dimension to the blue cardstock and added a scrap of paper at the bottom.  I used a new flourish die and cut it in half to place behind the image.  The flowers are Prima flowers that I have had in my stash forever.  I finished this off with some ribbon and a bow.

Doesn't she make you think of lazy summer days?

Happy Valentine's Day

Good morning Friends!  Happy Valentine's Day!  Today my son will be home for the weekend so I will have most of my "sweethearts" home! My daughter is off to Chicago to visit her boyfriend.  I have been working on the kids' Valentine gifts for awhile now and finally finished them enough to show.  I started these projects with small cardboard buckets I found at the Dollar Store along with some glittery heart picks.  I added an adorable image from Digital Delights.  I cut hearts and words from the Cricut and created some additional pics to poke in the basket.  First I stuck a small piece of foam to the bottom and added some paper filler.  I stuck in the picks and added some candy.  I am still going to add a gift card before I wrap them up in clear bags with some curly ribbon.

So, what did you get your Sweetheart for Valentine's Day?  The hubby took me out for dinner last night (while the kids were gone) and I enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner.

I am entering this project into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will join me again soon!

Use Pearls Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good Morning!  Can you believe we are almost halfway through February!
This week I am hosting my first challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks and I want to see what you can do with pearls .  I had planned on doing this great Valentine's Day Card to show today, but when I found this beautiful paper at Hobby Lobby the other day I knew it would be perfect for pearls. But then after I finished it I thought - What shows more love the pearls, flowers and angels?  This is going to be a great non-traditional Valentine for my hubby's Grandmother.  I used an image from The Paper Shelter that is simply called Angel and you can find her here.  I colored her with Prisma Color Pencils and embossed her wings and underskirt with Zing white opaque finish embossing powder.  I also added some embossing around the die cut which is one of Spellbinders great dies.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls and paper are from The Paper Studio. The ribbon is from my stash.

Come join us this week at 4 Crafty Chicks and show us what you create using Pearls.  I can't wait to see! And don't forget to stop by the rest of the Chicks blogs and leave them some love!  They have some amazing creations to share with you!
