Something Old/Something New

Good morning!  I can't believe we are at the end of August already!  Only 2 more days until my big launch party!  I think I am about ready!  Now all that is left is the baking!  Sugar Cookies and Cupcakes- my kitchen will be busy tonight!

On to this weeks challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks - Lori is our wonderful hostess this week and she chose Something Old/Something New.  I had a hard time with this one then I realized I was making it hard for no reason!  At first I had envisioned this beautiful wedding card (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue) then thought - Hey I have all kinds of NEW products!  So, I made a card using all of my new Close To My Heart products and added some OLD ribbon.

I used Thistle card stock as my base and then added papers from the Scaredy Cat collection.  I cut my spider web using the Artiste cartridge and stamped using the Halloween Greeting Stamp set.  Some black enamel stars (also CTMH) and an orange bow (ribbon from my stash) and I was happy with the results.

This is one of the cards we will be making at my September card workshop.  I hope they like it!

So, hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your "Something Old/Something New" project today!  I can't wait to see what you come up with! Also, a big thank you to our guest designer this month!  We really enjoyed working with you Amy!

Close To My Heart Blog Hop

Good morning!  I am so excited to be able to share with you this amazing blog hop featuring the fantastic embossing folders from Close To My Heart
These embossing folders are so much fun and so easy to use!  I chose to use "stripes" on my card.  I embossed the bottom half using  White card stock  and used paper from the Seaside Collection at the top.  My sentiment comes from the Lovely Birthday stamp set and the flowers were cut using the Cricut.  Some glitter trim and sequins completed this card.

Here are some close ups showing some of the detail:

Next up on the blog hop is the lovely and talented Kathy with Quatrafoil!  Be sure to hop through all the list to see how many fantastic Embossing Folders Close To My Heart has to offer!

Masculine Cards at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning all my crafty friends!  I can not believe that summer is coming to a close!  Tomorrow we will move our son back to college for his second year.

Well, today is Thursday so you know what that means! It is time for a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!  This week the lovely Tamie has asked us to make a Masculine card.  I have had limited time the last couple of weeks between getting Isaac ready to go back to school and getting my Close To My Heart business off the ground so, I made a pretty simple card.  I began with a simple 5x6 card base in blue, then added a 4 7/8 x 5 7/8 brown layer.  The stamps are from the Close To My Heart Artiste collection as well as the die cuts to match.  Some white pin around the edges and I have the perfect clean and simple card to send to my son for his birthday!

So what are you waiting for?  Head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Masculine card today! And, while you are there check out our beautiful redesigned blog and leave us some love!

Wedding/ Anniversary at Charisma Cardz

Good morning!  Today starts a new challenge at Charisma Cardz.  This week we are looking for Wedding/Anniversary projects and cards.  I had just finished making this bouquet of paper roses for my Close To My Heart launch party to use as a center piece and door prize and thought - Wow I love getting flowers on my Anniversary so these were perfect for the challenge!

I started by cutting my roses at 5, 6, and 6.5 inches using the Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I inked all the edges to give them a more realistic look and then rolled them and glued them together.  I cut some leaves using the same cartridge and hot glued them to my floral wire.  I poked a hold in the bottom of my roses and hot glued them to the top of the wire.  Super easy!  The baby's breathe was made using the same flower cut at 1 in. and the same leaves cut at 3in.

So head on over to Charisma Cardz and enter our Wedding/Anniversary project today!

For my project I decided to create a set of sorts.  I had made the card awhile ago but decided I wasn't really happy with my die cut flowers so thought I would add more to the project.  I created this adorable cake using the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste collection.  Then I decided to create a banner to go along with it.  This was cut from the Cricut as well using Straight From The Nest  cartridge and Kate's ABC's.  A few bows and I called it finished.
I am going to choose one winner from the comments to send this entire set to.

Here are a few more pictures:

Pink - Lime - and Turquoise

Good morning!  I am excited to share today's project with you!  It is Thursday so that means a new challenge is up at 4 Crafty Chicks.  I get to play hostess and decided that I wanted to see your projects using PINK, LIME and TURQUOISE.
As you know, I am getting ready for my big launch party for
CLOSE TO MY HEART and this is the color scheme I have chose to use at my party.  When I received my last order of product this adorable pennant frame was one of the things I thought would be fun to put together.
I used Pixie Pink, Pear, and Lagoon as my color scheme.  The flowers were made using the Close to my Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I added some glitter trim, sparkles and Daisy White ink (also CTMH) and some lace from my stash.  I love how it turned out and is going to look great on my display table!  I still need to add a picture of my darling little niece - then it will be perfect!

Here are a couple close ups for the flowers.  I loved making them (I think I made about 100!)

So be sure to hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks to see the wonderful projects they have for you and enter your PINK, LIME and TURQUOISE project today!

4 Crafty Chicks - Use PINS

Good morning!  I just can't believe it is August already!  This summer has just flown by!  Life is a busy as always but it seems to be in a good way.  As most of you know, I have became a Consultant for Close To My Heart paper crafting supplies.  I am very excited about this new journey I am on and can't wait to really get the ball rolling and see where it takes me!  Right now I am mainly in the planning stages, getting ready for a big launch party to kick things off.  Thanks to my wonderful Dad for all of his help in creating a great display!  So, be sure to watch for further details and expect to see lots of changes to my blog in the next few weeks!
Ok, so on to today's post. First off I want to thank everyone who entered our Crazy Egg Anything Goes challenge last week!  Wow! What an amazing turnout! And what wonderful creations!   We are kicking off a new month at 4 Crafty Chicks with the wonderful and talented Leann hosting our challenge.  Leann has challenged us to use pins on our creations.  Now, I bought a couple of packages of pins at the last CK Convention I went to last Spring but had not used them. So, I pulled them out and looked at them.  Huh, what was I going to do with these?!?  So here we go:  I colored this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil using both Spectrum Noir and Copic markers.  I made her kind of big (5in) and cut her out.  My paper came from the Confetti Wishes collection from Close To My Heart as well as the flowers that I made to match the card.  Ribbon from my stash and then to just stick the heart shaped pins in!  It was really a simple card to make even though the pins kind of challenged me!

Here is a close up of the flowers and the pins.

And of course a close up of this darling image:

Be sure to hop over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project using PINS today!
