Anything Goes at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good morning and welcome back!  Today I have a little different project to share with you.  I am pretty excited about this one!

Today is Thursday so we have a new challenge for you at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Leanne is our hostess and since it is the 5th Thursday of the month the theme is Anything Goes.(Our Crazy Egg challenge)

Now, let me tell you- this project is not for the faint of heart!  It took me 6 hours to complete!  But, I do think it was well worth it!  I found the cut files for this beautiful gazebo at SVGCuts.com.  I decided since it was my first one I was going to try to make it as close as I could to the example.  (Now, I can't wait to experiment with different colors and seasons!)  After cutting all of the pieces (20 sheets of paper!)  I decided that I wanted my layers to have some shimmer - so I re-cut all of the layers with different paper.  Next I decided that my "snow" also needed a little something extra so I embossed all of those pieces with WOW Sparkling Snow embossing powder.  Then came time to glue it all together.  I think there are about a million pieces!  (Actually each section has 8 main peices)  I embellished it before putting it all together to make it a little easier and when I was finished I added some battery operated candles inside to give it a "glow"  I am absolutely in love with this thing!  The pictures really do not do it justice!

Here are a couple of close ups:

This was the perfect project for a snowy Sunday afternoon while the hubby was watching football.

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your Anything Goes project today!  I can't wait to see what you create!  Oh, and while you are there- be sure to leave the other girls some love.  They are truly amazing!

See you soon!

Best Friends

Good morning!  Welcome back!  One of my New Years' Resolutions was to post more frequently - I promise it will happen soon!

Today is Thursday so we have a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks to share with you.  This week Lori is our hostess and she wants us to create a card/project using the theme BEST FRIENDS.

I purchased this adorable Tidly Inks image quite a while ago but had never used it.  What better best friends can a girl have than her Sisters?  I have 2 older sisters and would consider them both best friends.

I colored my image with Spectrum Noir pens and cut it out using my Cricut Explore.  The sentiment was also done on the Cricut.

So, head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and check out the other girls work!  They sure do amaze me each and every week!  While you are there why don't you play along!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!

Flowers

Good morning!  Wow! I can't believe it is the middle of January already!
Today begins a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Tamie is our hostess and she is wanting to challenge everyone to use flowers.

Now, most of you know how much I love my flowers!  So, I thought- this will be easy!  WRONG!  Why is it that when you know you have to use a specific thing you go completely blank?  Well, anyway, after cursing Pinterest for several days I finally decided on what I wanted to do:

Let me tell you, there are some beautiful creations on Pinterest!    I see all of these cards with the beautiful embossed centers and the wonderful elegant die cuts and just fall in love!  So, I took to my Cricut Explore and decided I would create a card with those elements.  The center stamp is one that my fellow chick Lori sent me for Christmas!  I just love it!  the embossed layer was done with the Explore by inserting my embossing pen and then heat setting the powder when  it was done.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and The Paper Studio.  The greenery was all cut using the Cricut and the butterfly was from the lovely Leanne.

Here are a couple of closeups :

I have to say I am very happy with the way this one turned out!  So head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your project using FLOWERS today!

I am entering the following challenges:

See you soon!

Happy Anniversary!

Good morning!  I want to start off by saying Happy 21st Anniversary to my wonderful hubby! (even though he will never see this!)  I can hardly believe we have been married for 21 years!  Time sure goes fast!

Today is Thursday so that means it is time for a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks.  I am hostess today so I have decided that since it is my anniversary that will be our theme this week!
Here is the card I made for my wonderful hubby:

I kept it pretty simple, using my Cricut Explore to design and cut everything.  The little diamond gems were a Christmas gift from my fellow chick Leanne.  (Thanks again!)  The writing was all done on the Cricut as well! (I am still amazed by that!)

So, head over to 4 Crafty Chicks and enter your ANNIVERSARY card today!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Happy New Year!

Good morning all my crafty friends!  I can't believe it is 2015 all ready!  Where did 2014 go?
Life has been so busy that time just seemed to slip away!

I hope you all have had a wonderful Holiday season!  My Christmas was fantastic!  My favorite gift?  A Cricut Explore!!! I have had so much fun playing with my new machine!

Today is Thursday so that means a new challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks! This week our lovely and talented Leanne is the hostess and she is ready for a CELEBRATION!  So, break out all those new crafty supplies and show us what you create using the theme CELEBRATION.

For my card, I used my new Cricut! (well, I have to practice right?)

I cut the snowflake using the Cricut Design space and did my writing using my embossing pen with the Cricut too!  I have to say, that is the coolest thing!  Even my family has had to come into my craft room just to watch this new machine "write" something!
Here are a couple close ups of the card:

So head on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and play along with us! We are also having a Guest Design Team Call - if you would like to play along with us please add GDT after your entry. We want to thank you for all of your support in 2014 and we are excited for the beginning of the new year and can't wait to show you everything we have in store for you in 2015!
